I wanted to exchange the Celsius jacket that my dad bought for $70 for the Reebok system jacket advertised for $36 and exchange a XL Reebok sweater for a smaller size.

I went into the Fordham Road (store # 8) store and compared sizes of the sweater and went with a medium and walked over to where the jackets were.

I first looked at the Celsius jacket area to find a cheaper coat. I called over two associates that were standing near me and asked for help. The male associate quickly left and the female associate, Mercedes barely moved when I asked her about the prices on the jackets. She said that she didn’t know and that I would just have to look, not offering any further assistance. I then asked her if there was somebody else that was more familiar with the jackets.

I later went over to the Reebok jacket section in the store and saw a different price than the ad that I had. I went over to the cashier and asked for a price check - it was $60 not $36 as advertised.

Went on my phone to pull up a scan of the ad, and that showed the Reebok jacket for $36 not $60 and showed it to a female associate that had the circulars. I showed her the scan and she said that as the sale goes on, the prices go up. I said okay, but that was the only item advertised in the circular with a different price.

As I was leaving the store, the security guard asked to see my receipt. I showed him it and said that he saw me with 3 jackets. I told him I put it back and I took out the other jacket for the bag along with the receipt to show him.

As he looked at the receipts He asked me again about the supposed 3rd jacket. I him that I was looking to exchange the Celsius jacket for the reebok jacket for $36, so I could buy two jackets for the price of the one that I had.

I told him I put it back and he asked me where I put the jacket. I told him to come with me so that I can show him, he said that he cannot leave his post and asked a male associate to go along with me so that I can show him where the coat was. I complied.

I left the store upset, and I quickly decided return the jacket for a refund.

I went in line to make the return and Mercedes was at the register to process the return.

When the return receipt printed out, she asked me to fill it out. I asked since you already have my MVP number, don't you already have that information? She replied, "just fill it out".

I have been shopping at Modells for years and I have never had a negative experience before, until now.

I was saddened tonight. My grandson suffered a serious spinal cord injury at our high school football game on Saturday afternoon. He has been operated on (12-hour surgery) and is now going to be sent for rehab tomorrow. My daughter asked me to get a large group of clothing for him that he will now be needing for the rehab center. I went to my local Modell's in Saddle Brook, NJ, and told the manager of our situation - THAT THIS 17-YEAR OLD KID IS NO LONGER ABLE TO WALK OR USE HIS HANDS - and he assigned us an associate to find what we needed. Then at the end of our shopping, with almost $400 worth of merchandise, I asked the manager if he would give us a discount. I knew I had some coupons home but our family is a little upside down right now and his answer was, "No, I couldn't do that, no discount, nope."
We have Eric Le Grand texting my grandson and planning to visit him at Kessler rehab; we have literally hundreds of people visiting him; we have had multiple newspaper stories (northjersey.com), yet you people have a store manager with no heart or decency who does not belong in a store that deals with sporting goods. People who play sports have a soul - this guy doesn't.

I think that in the New Yorlk and New Jersy area, there should be more Mets items. When I visited a modells store in Union NJ there was one whole wall full of Yankees items and merchendice and in the litte corner was a little section for the Mets. Plus they only sold three players. David Wright, Johan Santana, and Ike Davis. It is not fair to the Mets fans for you to have one whole wall full of Yankees items and a little corner for the Mets. We need more Mets jerseys and more players. Add Murphy, Pagan, Tejada, Pelfrey, Isringhausen, Turner and Capuano.

Hi,

I noticed that you don't carry any more Smith's Carpenter or Regular Fit Workwear Jeans in Black.
I've purchased these black jeans in the past and noticed recently non of your stores carry them anymore.
Would you be bringing that color option back anytime soon?

Thanks,
Calvin

not a complaint here, but a suggestion:
lakewood ( rte 70) store .........take a bit of quiet time to get footwear in order..........tends to gets all interspersed over time( naturally)...........but sizes and types in order would be an improvement.....
like shopping there, usually footwear and some training stuff.. thanks

how can you list cross training shoes by 'top ranked' when the vast majority of them have no reviews?

What are your criteria. To me this is a tease/cheat/waste of time which inclines me to look elsewhere

I love everything you've done to the store at
Reisterstown Road plaza. My only complaint is
why did you switch out Cap Barbell plates for Marcy plates in the training section?
