Bayonne Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken is a local baseball organization committed to developing new generations of baseball players and we’re supporting them! This northern New Jersey league has over 30 teams for kids ages 4-12, at all levels. During Community Weekend 2010, over $1000 was donated to the program. Check it out!

Join us for Community Weekend II, our biggest donation weekend of the year! Over $600,000 was donated to local youth sports organizations during our first Community Weekend in 2010.

10% of purchases made March 4-7* will be donated back to local youth sports organizations.

With Modell’s Community Weekend II just 6 weeks away, we’ll be sharing highlights from our first ever Community Weekend. Stop by every week and meet a different heavy hitter and some of our 2011′s starting line-up. Leading off is Zog Sports “Play for Your Cause”, a co-ed, social sports club that promotes charity and social action amongst young professionals in New York (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens). With their 2010 Community Weekend Donation, Zog Sports worked with Out 2 Play Foundation to build a playground for PS 217 on Roosevelt Island.

Laurel Boys & Girls Club Check Presentation

(GM) Cheryl, associate Jamese Green and I went to the Laurel, MD Boys & Girls Club championship basketball games on Friday April 9th to present their Community Weekend check. We have worked with the LBGC for years and they have always been a great Team Weeks organization.

The kids and parents were very receptive and gave us a warm welcome. When we announced the amount of the check we got a big hand from the crowd. The kids and parents really enjoyed the giveaways as well. One kid asked if the check was for a million dollars since we had a novelty check! It was very cute and the game was very entertaining.

The Laurel Boys & Girls Club is one of our sponsored organizations as you can see the Modell’s banners were hung around the gym. The coaches even had shirts made that said Modell’s Sporting Goods on them! We presented the check to Coach Adrian and Valerie of the LBGC.
