On December 30^th, 2010, the members of the McCarrick family were met by New York Jet Wesley Walker and Community Ambassador Bobby Jackson, at our Commack, NY store. After a fire destroyed their home a few days before Christmas, Modell’s was able to provide the family with some warm clothing. Billy Sr. and Jr., Charlene, Justin and Jessica were very thankful that Modell’s Sporting Goods was able to help out. D’Brickashaw Ferguson Camp

On April 16^th, at Margiotta Hall on the campus of Hofstra University, Modell’s sponsored the 1^st annual D’Brickashaw Ferguson Sports camp. The All- Pro left tackle of the New York Jets hosted senior youth, both male and female, from several school districts from Long Island. The forum was held in different classrooms and was focused on helping these seniors, soon to be college freshmen, have a smooth transition to college life. The lectures were led by current college seniors and underclassmen who discussed the study habits and adaptations needed to succeed in their first year in college.

Additionally, there was the first annual “BRICK BOWL”, a flag football contest, where all of the participants wore branded t-shirts provided by Modell’s. It was truly a great time had by all and a successful first event.
