The first time I experienced the World Cup, was the summer of 1998 in France. I had never been a soccer fan and was more interested in hitting up the shops on the Champs-Elysées then catching a soccer match.

While at a lunch that first memorable day, the bartender happened to have on the Italy vs France semi-finals playing on the TV. After casually glancing at the game every couple of minutes, I was hooked.
