Philadelphia Pop Warner season takes flight with visit from Eagles linebacker

Eagles Linebacker Omar Gaither speaks with Pop Warner players

Are you ready for some football? Pop Warner youth football players certainly are now, since they had a visit on July 26th from Eagles starting linebacker Omar Gaither at the Modell’s Sporting Goods on Oregon Avenue. These Pop Warner “Tailgate” events are scheduled to take place during late July/early August at select Modell’s locations, and allow kids to interact with an NFL player, have a Q & A session, and then receive an autographed picture. In attendance for this particular event were the South Philly Hurricanes and Nu Sigma Sharks organizations. The kids were given a very specific message from Gaither about working just as hard in school as they do on the gridiron, and respecting their parents and coaches. Gaither also gave the kids some tips on preparing for the start of their season, which was especially appropriate since Gaither was leaving for Eagles training camp the next day. The kids had a blast, and Gaither definitely made a major impact on all.
